Interim Head of Operations

Our Client is an ambitious company, a genuine leader in its field and operating within a truly pioneering segment of the life sciences sector.

A very significant and growing part of its business is the operation of a fully integrated and state-of-the-art clean room GMP manufacturing facility, MHRA licensed, thereby enabling it to work with a range of commercial partners, UK and international, in both process development and the production of clinical-grade material intended for use in human trials.

The growing demand for our client’s expertise combined with the pioneering nature of the products involved has triggered the need within the company for an experienced and senior level Interim Head of Operations. Responsibility will include the oversight and management of all aspects of the manufacturing activities, thereby helping ensure the company delivers on the commitments it has made to its various partners.

This role will understandably demand significant interaction with the company’s partners, creating the foundations for open, solid, successful and long-standing relationships.

The assignment is expected to be of 6 months duration, probably 3-4 days per week.

In addition to the time that will clearly need to be spent at the facility, it is anticipated that a proportion of the time will be spent visiting clients and that one day per week may well be possible working from a home base.

Candidates must have an impressive track record in Production / Operations Management, ideally in a CMO environment, and also have significant experience of biologics. Understanding and experience of working to GMP standards is a must-have.
